Interesting view...yes purpose of components change and fixing a name to something is inherently a risky proposition. This is especially true when you are open to conflating purposes ;-)

I do take exception to this piece of advice -

Names should usually not incorporate your company’s name. If everything at BongCo starts with Bong, it just makes the names longer without adding information.

Using your company's name in a component can serve to disambiguate or indicate future generations that this component is home grown so no need to scour the interweb to find out where someone nicked this from.

Otherwise, point taken, be careful with your naming - too specific and you might mislead, too general and you provide no information at all. Of course we live in a n error where names mean little and companies feel compelled to confuse us with made up words for their new startup...so I guess using Shelob for your new project is in alignment with the company itself.
