A PIP is an invention of the lawyers that have had to deal with an incompetent HR and managers that do not understand how to hire or how to manage employees.

If you are ever put on a PIP - begin the job search immediately and hope they are so incompetent that they let you dangle for 6 months. You get to f'off for 6 months while you are being paid to look for a job.

Now, here's the tricky part. Do a better a job finding a job that excites and motivates you . And make sure the position doesn't require a manager that gives a f*ck to help you succeed. Ultimately, as Hemingway reminds us - "It's always your fault if you're any damn good."
